How to read Choghadiya

Amrit, Shubh, Labh and Char are favourable — use them for new ventures, travel, purchases and ceremonies. Rog, Kaal and Udveg are traditionally avoided for beginnings (routine work may continue).

Choghadiya divides sunrise-to-sunset and sunset-to-sunrise into 8 parts each, so every period lasts about 1.5 hours and shifts daily with the sun. Also check Rahu Kalam — a favourable Choghadiya overlapping Rahu Kalam is still avoided by many families.
