Shraddha is an important Hindu ritual performed in memory of deceased ancestors. The annual Shraddha is performed on the same tithi (lunar day) and in the same lunar month as the death occurred. Pitru Paksha (in Ashwin month Krishna Paksha) is especially important for ancestor worship.
